how many of us believed (and still believe :D) that there is someone somewhere made for us..the perfect one..the only one!!!
well, i believe...
just that the definitions have been changing over the times and the 'someone' has become a remote impossibility now, cos of his (my 'inclination' proves many things!) dynamic nature ! :D
in my early teens i hopelessly used to believe that a knight will come , riding on a white horse and sweep me off my feet!! i wont have any option but to fly away with him..in the clouds..
sigh..some animal rights activists rushed in..confiscated the horse and the rider too !!! and my dreams were shattered...
then SRK came into my life..roaming in the alps, crooning love ballads, with a damsel clad in chiffon sarees swooning in one hand (she kept on changing though :-\) and stars in eyes..that was perfect romance for me..used to go weak in the knees :) at times i still do :D
but that was lala land..sigh again..when i landed on earth, there were no alps around, no muzik and above all no SRK !!! wat the **** (hell :D) i never knew i had such good imagination :D sigh.. sigh.. sigh..
twas time that i came off age and started respecting the real, actual living beings around me..and not some stupid fool who dint even know wat he was doing right at the top of the mountains in the damning cold, with a female clad in bare minimums :D
hmmm...reflecting now me thinks, not dreaming and BEING in the real world is a bit problematic..cos u dont know of the many dimensions and complexities of human nature! on the other hand, dreams and hindi films r so simple !
take 1 : boy meets girl, after some hiccups girl agrees, then a stupid fight against society and finally everyone unites and happily ever after
take 2 : c wat happens in fairytales..shrek rescues the princess..she falls in love with him and after fighting some really funny malefactors, its happily ever after again..
hmmm (again!)i suddenly realize that many of my fans(!) who r reading this, might think that nightflier's had a heartbreak or she s lost hope !
no madames and sir(s) of course :D, neither m i heartbroken nor have i lost hope..i write these incoherent thoughts as i find people around struggling and desperately trying to find out the right one for themselves!
mind u 90% of the people my age want to get settled in life and the search for the right one has taken its toll !!this fact comes from the observation that, people already in relationships want to get settled and lukkhas (like me :), me not included though) r seraching!
the ones who want to settle down have got bigger problems on their mind..where,why and most importantly how ??? the lukkha gang is working on trial and error..
i really dont know how do u know, when u know, that this is it !! is it the same feeling u get, when ur searching for pink pyjamas and right there in the corner of the shop, lying below heaps of other assorted stuff, u find it ! or is it something you feel when u r seeing off a long acquainted friend and sense a void forming inside u..guess its a feeling which is something very ordinary but inexplicable!
people around r going through a lot of chaos..2 years back the same lot were giving engineering exams (yeah..others too :)) and struggling through them..gosh !!! hope they then knew that this is just a stroll in the park :)
i hopelessly wish that everyone finds what they have been searching for !! after all coming back to my point, someone somewhere is made for u ! :) (not sure if my wishes work, but then somewhere i must be some god's favorite blogger !)
in the mean time ll get back to SRK and the swooning ladies and hopelessly wish for someone to sweep me off my feet and gimme a chance to make him the center of my world !
p.s. mind u, SRK might be old now but still does it with panache !
adventures of No. 1,2 and 3 - I
there r days..and there r no days..
on a particular sad 'no day' u r mind craves for adventure..
specially if ur caught up in the dungeons of the dark lord (i revere him a lot :D but its not always fun to be in his 'company') !
so, the three death eaters (the protagonists, we will call them No.1,2 and 3 for the sake of simplicity), the rebellious lot, u see; bored of the mundane ramblings with the dark lord, decided to flee on this particular sad 'no day', and enjoy the sunshine..
the monotony of dark lord's tyranny (misnomer for 'no work' :D) had taken the fun out of their lives and the adveturists were looking forward to this escapade !
the plan was purrfect (this is exactly wat the order also thought when they had rescued potter from the dursleys..muhahaha...)
(in the fake version u see :D)
the idea was this : they had planned to watch a muvi (thats wat muggles call the high octane drama, in which people love, hate, fight, dance and manage to do a lot of activity, in a matter of some hours!) Well, r death eaters had a softer (read melodramatic and emotional!) side to them and loved doing these humanly activities (like watching muvis :) ). But no one had an easy escape from the dark lord's eyes!
the only hitch in the plan lied in getting away from the dark lord's citadel in a hushed manner! that involved a lot of courage u know, as they were all bound by the dark talismans, which tracked their activities inside the citadel! this needed a master plan, but these rebels had none..
so while trying to decide on what to do, they came out of the fortress just like that! plain!
no one noticed them escaping! (proves one thing though, all these, talismans and all are mind games :D) Still not believing themselves, they first decided to apparate! but no one took second chance with the dark lord! they decided to go the muggle way and took an autorikshaw. Now its an interesting means of transportation, given the three wheels it has to balance its somewhat rotund shape and the black box inside it, which constantly changes numbers more than the rate at which dark lord turns people to his side (thats astonishing, thought no. 2, must tell this to his excellency to gain his confidence!) More interesting was the species who drove that thing, thought no. 1. He was making a never ending raucous about the money (thats wat they use to buy and sell stuff in muggle land!) they needed to pay for the journey. (Must enslave him as the specimen of the annoying muggle, thought no. 1, who was in charge of 'educating-death-eaters-on-muggle-kind') No.3 being a bit short tempered thought about cursing him with freezing charm, but no. 2 wriggled 3 out of it, as life offered more exciting adventurous, according to 2!
They reached the muvi hall in what they thought was eons compared to their standards :D
and in half desperation to not let No.3 curse the irate driver and get their identities revealed and land up in trouble!
They took some time to get accustomed to the muggle atmosphere and entered the hall looking as innocent as, a person, who has farted in public and thinks no one noticed ! :D
The muvi appealed to these poor souls given their emotional range of a tablespoon! They were howling with laughter at every stupid joke and singing and clapping loudly to every song! When they left the hall, they were the last in a crowd of 20!
Wait up! It just contentedly does not end here!
There is one twist remaining in this awe inspiring tale of courage and determination! :D
No. 2 s secret beeper started beeping, it was an emergency message from the dark land..they were being searched for there, for a task left unfinished by dumb No. 2! Oh no...they could not apparate, as twas only one way! this was a catch 22 situation..No. 2 knew she had left her task of testing new muggle burning serum unfinished, without documenting the results. But as she had also wanted to go for this adventure dint tell it to anyone! Totally sympathizing with her case, 1 and 3 decided to take the chance and started their way back on to the dark fort! As lord lucky singh was on their side, they caught hold of a nitebus. As they say "with the grace of lucky singh", the driver was new in this land, and knew nothing of them, so without any doubt transported them back to the fortress! The royal guards of the fortress had thought that 1,2,3 had outer world duty that day, so had no questions about their whereabouts! (2 fell in love with lucky singh that very moment!)
No.2 quietly finished her work and returned to sanity!
the escapade had been eventful and successful and a great adventure indeed! :)
P.S. this is an animated version of the incident when i along with my friends bunked office to go for a movie and were caught up in a soup! :) i know readers dont mind the torture! :D

odyssey of the unwaba ....
Unwaba revelations (third part of game world trilogy) is released sometime in dec..
an all india release is not done/planned by the publisher..dunno y?? :S
so i go to the nearest bookstore (odyssey by dunno who) and ask for a copy..
fine its not available..so i place an order..they say within a week the book will be available and i ll receive a call..
i dont get any call..and as m dying to read the final installation of the fantabulous book, i go to the book store and inquire bout status of my order..
i m told to wait for another week as the book s not available (though the publishers have a store house in my city!)
for two more weeks i dont contact them..
and when today finally i go and ask them about its status (trying to act angry..at which i was badddd :() i get confused (actually smirks..cos of the book s name :-\) looks from the store people..
amazingly they dont have any record of my order in their computer database (from where they actually track the books and orders ) though they had one in their so called register..FANTASTIC!! i must say..
{
hate their guts when they open such big stores and provide null customer satisfaction!!
what on the face of the earth were they thinking while opening the shop..
}
i scrap my order..come home in a furious state and place an online order immediately..
the thing i should have done 3 weeks back..hoping to have my hands on the copy by this weekend!! :)
in the mean time ll catch jokovich-hewitt clash tom..
its going to be one heavenly encounter :D
till then..ciao :)

love actually ...
saw this movie for the umpteenth time today..
can not stop smiling :):)
the movie is so endearing that it makes u feel gooood just about everything !!
may be its the simplicity of 'love', shown through an extremely complex set of stories and cast which are interwoven intelligently, that, it clicks !
the story of aurelia and jamie clicked most to me..though its a bit fairytalish types (dreamy me cant help falling for such stuff u know :D or may be its the charm of colin firth!) the story is just beautiful..makes u believe in true love !! :)
the father-son (daniel and sam) and singer-manager (billy and joe) stories stand equally close..i give both of them the second place..the platonic love between billy and joe is something u hardly get to watch these days..and the father-son duo are just too cool to get ignored..plus the way their relation's progress is shown is too believable, considering daniel s the step father of sam, both fighting for their own love, one's lost and one's budding !!
well after this i dont have any personal favorites :)
though Hugh Grant is charming as always with his thick british accent and as the young, dynamic statesman..oh the Prime Minister !!
the treatment to the plot is superb..laced with witty, funny, sarcasm bhare dialogs its the perfect british film! it aught to be actually as most of the janta in there is British :) and plus the point that its set around x'mas season, makes it even more adorable..the spirit of the festive season is shown just in the right way..with the xmas lightings shown in and around every corner, the carol singers, the nativity play, the gift shops..oooh the excitement is overwhelming !!
Richard Curtis (the director and screenplaywriter) is well known and appreciated for his talent..this is the golden (may be platinum, heard its rarer and costlier :D) feather in this chicken's hat !
its one of those wonderful movies which raises ur spirits and makes u believe that..
love actually is all around :)

sadly blogger does not offer much in the shades of blue, ob my fav :D, so picked tis one!!
pretty refreshing..unlike the stuff on this blog :D
and i guess this one's gonna stay as in i m getting this feeling 'this is the one' :):)
anyways as for me..lots needs to be done and undone!
my hair need a change..a cut will do..may be some hideous flicks to scare the hell outta my friends :D but 'mummi ko na kehna..kyonki mummy ko nahi hai pata!!' :D:D
on the serious side, need to join dance class, restart yoga, read loads of marathi books, catch up with studies, learn continental cooking, restart badminton....
bah...
the list is just overwhelming...
at least the spirit s in the right place..
as Swami Vivekananda says 'Arise, Awaken and stop not till the goal is reached!' (dunno how i still remember school days ka sayings!! )

illusions ...
i was in mumbai sometime back and this peculiar incident happened with me...
had promised meself that would surely write about it..somehow could not (working lady saga :P)
well anyways, sad stories apart :D, here u go...
we were having lunch at this simple hotel in colaba, when suddenly, two hands poked my shoulder from the window (me was sitting beside the window giving an exotic view to the streets of aamchi mumbai:)) first i was startled then it scared the hell outta me..
two beggar kids, were asking for some food..i m pretty bad at handling this cos i dont like the whole idea, of giving food for free..well thinking i was, to somehow wriggle out of the situation, dont know what struck me..i took my bag, took out a five star i had bought for emergencies, and gave it to the kid..wild with joy it went to its other friends..the most astonishing thing happened then, instead of eating it him/her(dont remember the gender) self, the child gave the "5 *" to its younger sibling and both finished it happily..taken over by the whole emotional scene, i also took some snaps of them (now i know why the faarainers find indian beggars so amusing :))
although, the beggar kids' other friends thronged us for more '5 eesstarss' later, and i also found out that their whole family was into this begging business (i did feel sorry for meself then), i was happy cos i had made someone happy!!
hmmm...made someone happy...
taking a look back, i realize, what i gave to the children was momentary happiness..
after a day or two when, they or their parents could not find anything to eat, those kids would be left in the vicious misery..
is it always like this? may be i m thinking too deep, over a mundane matter..but it is worth giving a thought...there are people who are happy over small things in life and there are people who ooze happiness, like they dont know what happiness is?? may be the small kids had not even realized, that they were happy and they were in such euphoric state...may be the giver (me) was aware of what happiness (chocolat) m giving, but the taker (the kids) just knew that they r getting something exotic to eat and it needs to be eaten...so simple yet so complex, isnt it??
illusions i say are good for health :D
hadnt it been for writing and this blog, i was surely a goner ...:):)
till we meet again, stay simple..
p.s. good i dint write this blog then :D

Wat a comeback!!!!
M blogging after ages...and there could not have been a much better reason to make a come back...
Madhuri Dixit is back :):):)
dear madam,
its a pleasure to see u act, dance and emote...
and your latest movie was a treat !!! i was never sooooo taken over by someone :)
the dancing and the performance is just awe inspiring !!
speechless...is the word...when u danced on the very drab and ordinary title track, i was just speechless :) accepted that a musical needed a really deep, meaningful music score; just hats off to u for lifting the movie from nowhere to everyone's heart!!!
i dont want to review the movie, as there s, truly, nothing new about it...we have the usual culprits like poor script (believable in first half, but which flies off to lala land in the second half), not so great music...on the positives, its got great set design (thanks to cinematographer turned director), all characters are wonderful and i liked the whole 'shaher ko kala ki jarurat hoti hai' wala funda!!
but madam, its u, u and only u who has ruled throughout the movie...
i dont remember a single scene, when u were around, and my heart dint skip a beat :)
it just went mmmmmmm....:):)
once again i thank you.
it was a totally incredible experience, watching someone do what he s best at...ur dancing skills are just too much to write about :) and i dont really want to exert myself to come up with any more suitable adjectives :D
i would just say...ye dil maange more :)
love u loads!!!
your loyal fan,
nightflier !!
P.S. for beginners 'Aaja Nach le' s Madhuri Dixit s first movie after a 6 yrs sabbatical...and its much more than worth a dekho..u ll realise it when she dances :)
rest is great!! happy reading...
