Today we had a carnival at school as part of the homecoming week..
and i could not enjoy, not because i was worried about the approaching mid-terms or the impending assignments or the looming project submissions..
but because i was missing my friends..
so much that every event i took part in seemed meaningless (yeah sounds filmy :( but true)
the mela trips, the dinner outings, the rock concerts, the shopping sprees, the cook-outs, the gossip sessions, the endless chit-chatting about nothing in general, the movies, the dances, the college fests, the office coffee rooms, the collage competitions, the cubicle decoration, the shootouts (photos) for fun, the birthday surprises, the cake cuttings, the impromptu trips, the treks, badminton days, sudoku solving, the endless debates on moral issues, the parties...
sigh...
i shed a few tears,
thinking about you my dear..
the great times we had,
are a testimony that i was glad..
life turns a mystic hue,
as i wipe off the dew..
I miss you guys itna saara..
hope you all are doing good, wherever you are..
guess an episode or two of 'friends' will cheer me up :)
Milestone
They say one should celebrate life for no reason, because it is the most amazing festival of our lives. (OK no 'they' say this, my crappy brain conjured this up :D)
So as i hit '15 posts' in the month of September, i take this opportunity to raise a toast to amreeka, dell inspiron 1525 and a vella brain, to eat up so much of blogger's unlimited memory space !!!
(all of you gracefully stand up and applause!!!!)
thank you..thank you..
So many posts prove a lot of things in addendum to the above mentioned true-to-my-knowledge facts.
1. I am serious about writing..meaningful or not meaningful..crappy or some gems..
2. the reader count has increased
3. comments have increased..its good to know, people read me..how cool is that?
4. i am at least passionate about something..i mean at my age, its a serious cause of worry, if you don't feel the same drive towards things !?!?
anywho, nowadays, i feel more like this 'When everything comes your way you're in the wrong lane!!'
yeah, in spite of the fact that i don't drive a car, i don't have a job, i don't get to shop till i drop, i don't get to see my friends often (with the distance, 'online' is the place where we meet normally) and most importantly, the biggest woe, i don't have a nice life partner and a small little house looking over the sea!! I still feel like this.
So, is this some atypical syndrome? Or is this the typical 'whiny female' stuff?
Am i the only one? If you feel the same way, then please share, because i will feel better, in a sadistic 'thank god, i have company!' kind of way.
And if you still don't relate with any of this crap, then at least sympathize with me, by suggesting a good neuro-surgeon! I seriously suspect some nerve damage.
Remember its kind to help someone in distress!!
Specially someone who has 3 mid-terms in 2 days. Someone who does not even know a shard of the past few lectures she s been attending. And someone who s not been doing 'oh-so-great!!' in her assignments.
My first mid-terms sure look like a mile-stone (i will have to walk a mile to reach there..hehehe) in the supposedly life defining Master's program.
cheer up,
nightflier

First words!!
Its every parents' dream to hear his/her bundle of joy utter those first magical words in this mortal world! Ranging from 'mama', 'dada' to 'camera' (remember that joke from DCH ??) every word spoken is a new step for the child and a proud moment for the parent. I don't know why proud, because it is something very normal, natural to be able to speak, as a human. May be the feeling that a physical part of you can utter something meaningful (that's debatable) is supposed to swell your innards because of pride and prejudice. May be something more complex, unexplainable, (that's why such a fuss about the first words!!)
Now why i am writing all this ? Does that ring any bell to you ? Good that it does not, that makes your mind less polluted and straight! Be happy for it!! :D
I experienced the vice-versa today.
My mom-dad uttered their first e-words today!! :) :)
yeah, we chatted..thanks to gtalk and my bro !
My symbolic first word to them was a smiley and they replied back with a cursory 'hi'.
I was Impressed, that they are e-savvy now, totally. Wow, what a moment of jubilation for me!
And i understood those enormous feelings behind that 'Hi'!!!
They wanted to tell me that they were happy learning this thing (or may be what a pain it was to locate that 'h' and a slightly diagonal 'i' on the keyboard and actually typing it and then pressing the 'enter' button, just to be able to 'CHAT' with me), and amazed at the power of internet (because to their simple 'hi', i shot back with a 10 line essay on what i was doing, what i ate etc etc)!
But you know what, i am really proud of them. Because they broke their inhibitions and are willing to learn all this just to stay connected with me in every possible way. They are incorporating something very foreign to them in their lifestyle, to be near their headstrong daughter all the time.
Mom Dad i Love U :) sniff..sniff..
I have already started to teach them stuff. The first thing that popped in my mind was how to a photo album. And went ahead with that. It was a blast. I mean when do you get such golden opportunities ? And now my dad has also started reading my blogs and articles @ TechNews!! Fulltoo e savvy he will be in a few days :)
I am also going to teach them to make calls from computer, watch movies online, read news, listen to music, etc etc.
Wow..never thought parenting could be so fun ;)
I just hope I am not a compulsive parent ! :D
And now i also understand (somewhat !!) those unexplained feelings in first para.
Life s strange!

'a whole new world' from alladin !
(lyrics copied from a website and pasted in lavender :D)
I can show you the world
Shining, shimmering, splendid
Tell me, princess, now when did
You last let your heart decide?
I can open your eyes
Take you wonder by wonder
Over, sideways and under
On a magic carpet ride
A whole new world
A new fantastic point of view
No one to tell us no
Or where to go
Or say we're only dreaming
A whole new world
A dazzling place I never knew
But when I'm way up here
It's crystal clear
That now I'm in a whole new world with you
Now I'm in a whole new world with you
Unbelievable sights
Indescribable feeling
Soaring, tumbling, freewheeling
Through an endless diamond sky
A whole new world
Don't you dare close your eyes
A hundred thousand things to see
Hold your breath - it gets better
I'm like a shooting star
I've come so far
I can't go back to where I used to be
A whole new world
Every turn a surprise
With new horizons to pursue
Every moment red-letter
I'll chase them anywhere
There's time to spare
Let me share this whole new world with you
A whole new world
That's where we'll be
A thrilling chase
A wondrous place
For you and me
I still think sometimes, may be 'my alladin' will come. But if it wasn't for dreams, a chunk of me would have been dead already!! No kidding there.
Time sure changes you. From a dreamy eyed teenager to a srk fanatic, when it comes to romance, one thing that has not changed is this, 'practicality loses meaning' :) And I am thankful that these dreams, about mysterious unknowns make it all worth!!
I am still feeling those goosebumps, i used to get, after watching this song!
Do i love disney or what ? :)

2. you are an ex-IT professional
3. you have plenty of unread mails in your INBOX (this one stands out, don't disappoint me!!)
well, considering you all did not pay proper attention in your physics classes in school, i give it to you.
YOU CHECK FORWARDS !!!!
I came across this cute forward, when i was shamelessly deleting unread mails (with due respect to the senders, who thoughtfully mail you the same forward a zillion times), as part of my create some space in my unlimited gmail-box drive, which said, 'check your cartoon character match' !!
The over curious kid in me loves doing such stuff, so i answered the stupid quiz to get this result..
I resemble,
I am happy (not because of the description, my friends know 'what-a-friend' i am :D), because watching Pingu was my favorite pastime in summers. They used to show it on DD only during summers. Aah, childhood.. what a bliss..

P.S. Lavender is my favorite color these days !

| You are the classic person that everyone loves. You are the best friend that anyone could ever have and never want to loose. You never cause harm to anyone and they would never not understand your feelings. Life is a journey it's funny and calm for the most part. Stay away from traitors and jealous people then you will be stress-free. | ||||

Career fair
I attended my first career fair, in the land of opportunities.
So the first question anyone pops up is, how was it ??
ermmm...actually, I'm new here..don't actually know how these 'fairs' are supposed to be..so whatever answer i give, people are bent on telling me that how only consultants come to universities, how only good universities get all the good companies, if at all, and blah, blah, blah.. so it leaves a novice like me clueless !!!! (mercy !!!!)
Anyways, still for those who want to know, i think it was a 'fair' job fair, cos i applied to 8 firms for internships (1 out of these was for a PhD don't-gimme-those-sneers-please program!!). And the most amazing thing was i had the choice of applying to firms!! There was no screening process whatsoever.
The structure of the whole extravaganza was like this. All the companies had set up their booths. The institute had a registration process, so as to avoid intruders from other univs. Here we were given a guide sort of booklet, a map of the stalls and some goodies. The registration people also provided ties (the ones if tightened around 'the neck' can cause a lil bit of problem :D) and other stuff, to complete the formal look. I thought that was pretty cool and thoughtful of them. If you did not have time to zero down on your companies of interest, then using that guide one could screen them and save a lot of time and energy. So once you have shortlisted the firms, on the basis of eligibility criteria, like resident status, educational background, education level, time period (full time/part time/inters/co ops) etc., you are ready to roll !!
Next steps were, approaching the booth with cool head and few questions ready. Normally they had enough representives who would receive your queries individually. So people like me could shoot any kind of stupid things from 'oh, can i pick that lip balm?' to 'so you are into power systems, eh?'.
Alrite, jokes apart, it is a really good opportunity to think about your choices and accordingly ask them any damn things. Many times it creates a good impression that 'hmm, so this girl knows what she's doing, so she's smart enough, lets hire her'. I mean this is how a normal employer would think, so try to do some research before you go to such fairs or use your brains. And scene here is a bit different. Firms are looking for engineers from various fields in the real sense. Not just software firms, mind you.
So we had a whole bunch of (ok, 8-9) of core electrical engg firms, same for other concentrations, financial firms, software companies, HR depts, govt agencies. So students from every strata had a chance here.
It surely was a different experience, as the dress code was strictly followed, only your resume would speak for you instead of an aptitude test, and the goodies they distributed.
I went with 10 resume in my file, and came back with a bag full of goodies (highlighters, sticky pads, piggy banks, lip balms, key chains, pencils, pens, diaries, etc. etc. whoosh !!) and the satisfactory smile of dropping 8 resume at meaningful firms. Only 2 have asked me to apply online again, btw.

It comes out every tuesday. So poor me, with no on campus job and so less study load, decided to take the plunge. And sent my first article about the Self Defense workshop i attended to the editorial team. They must have liked it or worst case had very few good articles on the rack (justifies me getting printed :D) for this week. But anyhow, i got printed and that's important !!
I think its like i got printed after 10 yrs (last time was for a school golden jubilee magazine, as an alumnus, most of which was edited by mom :D). Feels GREAT !!!!!
now planning to write every week :) :)
poor readers, here i come !!!!!!!!!
btw, the hard copy has hit the stands, will share the link, once they upload it online :)

Soul Searching
I know i have been running away from expectations, especially of the people around me, trying to hide it all, by saying 'its my life', loud and aloud at every chance thrown my way (by now you should know that i do have my fan following..duh..)
So, one self doubting session down, how do i feel ?
More responsible towards myself, more in charge of myself, more in control ???
naaah....
Are you mad or wat ? I have many better things on mind :D
like,
1. do some job searching at the job fair tomorrow.
2. watch a nice, refreshing stupid movie.
3. Go volunteer for the international fest of college.
4. keep myself busy !!!!!!!!!!!!
Btw my mom just got overtly senti after reading the letter, so its got nothing to do with my writing skills..for a moment i almost felt like writing a 10 page long letter to her, explaining how you should not say such disturbing things to emotionally challenged people like me.. But, as the new personality trait goes, i gave up :D
And if my earlier post made u doubt urself, then i take the responsibilty of my actions. See, i am already improving..
SS helps :D

May be.....
The other day I was reading this and amused (twas a great read) I forwarded the link to another friend..
He gave me some really good food for thought..as a passing thought on the post, he said, 'the thing is, our generation (read u, me aur hum) was born with the million dollar dream !'
I have been thinking since then..Really ????
We all are blessed in a way to be born in an era, when India is shining, almost like a star !
Almost all of us (except for the underprivileged) have got opportunities in life, if we made a conscious choice out of, would take us to that dream of ours !! But still most of the youth today looks disillusioned, by the very power of YOUTH. I want to blame it on the Pandora's box thrown open in front of the impressionable minds, as a result of the globalization, booming economy, technical progress, software revolution, etc. Every other person I meet (my age), wants to drive a ferrari, own a yacht (I Do ..), live a life king size/queen size.. But none (very few) is willing to take the effort or at least the decision towards achieving it.. I mean materialistic fantasies are not bad, we all have them, as a result of the 'karma' we do..
So why not satisfy them and move towards the more sacred state ?
Or may be, our generation had this engineering/medicine naam ka congenital desease. Its like a label, a tag. A baby is born and its bound to be a successful doc or a nerdy techie or a hotshot ceo. We are a generation, who moved ahead of our predecessors a lil bit, by coming out of the 'government job-secure life-happily ever after' syndrome. We are adventurous when it comes to taking risks with our lives. But have we been justifying the freedom of choice we have ? The very freedom which as I above said is the reason behind a lot of soul searching.
May be our generation needs to take charge of itself, by being accountable for its actions and thinking. May be...
I dont know why I am writing random stuff, which cropped up in my head..may be its a good way to increase post (most of them unread :() count. may be...
Anyways, as far as my own life is concerned, I think that I want those many things that everyone else wants. And I have the gear to work towards them and get them. At least, I feel like it :) Plus its like being a child again and doing what you like, you enjoy the most. May be..
Again I remember the very point my friend made, 'But at 23 its important to know that we are in control of our life!' May be... If we are not a part of some big scheme, being just moved by others, then yes.. we are in control :)
Anyways, I have to catch some online lectures now..keep working for your goals..it feels good :)
And yeah mom received my letter (the very first i sent from amreeka) and she told that she lost sleep, could not eat properly :-\ well she says, this happened cos of the unbounded happiness she felt after reading the 2 page long novel I wrote..But i seriously doubt my writing skills now..if this is what happens after reading my letters, then I am disillusioned..
may be....
P.S. I hope I have given enough hints to people, to comment :) :)

And yeah mom received my letter (the very first i sent from amreeka) and she told that she lost sleep, could not eat properly :-\ well she says, this happened cos of the unbounded happiness she felt after reading the 2 page long novel I wrote..But i seriously doubt my writing skills now..if this is what happens after reading my letters, then I am disillusioned..
may be....
P.S. I hope I have given enough hints to people, to comment :) :)
a lady's day out !!
For me a day out is more about, giving time to myself, cook, read, relax and shop !!!!
yes, the purrrfect feel good thing that's a routine in any lady's life, is a shopping trip to the nearest mall :)
well, i happened to visit numerous malls here, since i landed..for various reasons..kabhi grocery (which s a routine now), sometimes mall hunting for household stuff to get better, cheaper deals..and sometimes just to give friends company..
But i tell you, this can become a serious addiction..especially when it comes to clothes :)
I happened to visit some really posh stores in downtown recently..gosh twas like somebody had set me off from a prison..the stores were a run for money for sure..amazing variety and really good collection..i carried almost 10 sets of clothes to the trial room..and made myself feel like a princess..i liked the system here, your allowed to take as many as 6 clothes at a go..In Indian malls, they allow only 2 clothes at a time :(
and ask a girl, what joy it is, to try so many things at a time !!!
i mean, i ended up buying only the essential stuff, but i found the whole process amusing :)
If you happen to go to a clothes store sometime, just observe a lady shopping..we just handpick stuff, stuff that r eyes fall in love with at the first glance..its no looking back for us then..
females also keep an eye for the stuff most of the other girls are buying, for some it gives an idea of the common taste, for some its an indication that they should not be buying that style, to get added to the 'oh-so-common' or general group..for me it just tells that, if i have missed out on some really good section of the store !!
But again ask a lady, what pain it is to give up stuff which she really likes, but doesn't need; to give up stuff gracefully as someone else has already picked up the last remaining piece or to give up stuff which is not available in her size..that's the worst agony of life..and i think that's why ladies are so reasonable in life, they can give up on stuff coolly :) (hope guys are listening ;))
Many ladies think that shopping is the ultimate salvation..and i agree almost entirely, cos we have this uncanny ability of feeling good about ourselves, by just spending some bills, sometimes on nothing :D I have done the same on many low days and given company to many girlfriends on their bad days..so i can tell you that it works :)
I was watching the movie 'sex and the city' (silly movie actually) the other day and felt the same, when all girl gangs would just go for fashion sales, auctions or shows, for a day out !! I have never been a fashion icon, in my life, but i know somewhere we all want to make r statement..it is a way of expression :)
And now you must be wondering why I'm so hell bent on defending the whole 'shopping extravaganza' ?? Cos i bought a really pretty summer skirt (now don't echo the fact that its winter time, dumbass :-\) which i fell in love with, and moreover twas in sale and cheaper and dint want to let go of it (read essential) and really really pretty (again!)..
so is it making sense now ??
Cant really keep that girlie one in me, in control, at such times !!

one month old !!
For the uninitiated, i landed in the US of A on 11th of August :)
haan, ek mahine pehle, aankhon mein kuch sapne liye, pocket mein daddy ke paise liye, 32 kgs ke 3 bags liye, mann mein kafi sawaal liye (?!?!), i entered this land !!
In no mood of retrospection/introspection and the scary lots, so chill :) :)
but since, i am a 'bad assignment' (yeah, i wrote bout it ) down today successfully, it calls for celebration !! muzeeek, drinks :D and more muzeeek....
As i have become accustomed to this numbering my thoughts system, presenting to you, the things which i m liking here the most ...
1. the university..yeah its private and costly, but for the sheer joy of learning and being in classes, i am loving it !!
2. the range of international friends i m making everyday..yesterday i made a Nigerian friend. Made really good friends with a Spanish guy from Spain (duh, Spanish people live elsewhere too!!) on my day 1 at the university..have wonderful Bangladeshi and gujju roomies..a guy from Peru, he s also Spanish, is my walking and homework :) partner..and of course french, chinese, americans and desis. Feels really good :)
3. the profs and the courses..
4. Chicago !! come on i live in downtown, who wont love it ??
5. the Michigan lake (i know now this post is sounding repetitious)
I think, in spite of being slow and dumb, i will finish my M.S. here :)
plus, with so many handsome french guys around, i don't think i m gonna have a bad time ;)
so on this daydreaming note, i will say my tata ...
happy one month to me !!

kung fu woman !!
How many of you ladies have felt unsafe out there, when u were walking/shopping/traveling alone, all on your own ?
This is a generalized question to everyone..i know it becomes a lot more tougher when you are out there alone, doing all your chores, in a big, bad world..predators are everywhere..but have you given any thought, that you can be victimized or made an easy prey, by the situation..
Well, if you haven't then, i will share this wonderful workshop (which i attended) details with you..i went to a 'self defense' workshop recently held on my campus..the need being just to have fun, get to know other females on campus and lastly learn self defense..
ironic, but the kind of protective environment i was brought up into, i never came across any creeps (read mentally ill/sick/psycho human beings)..and after growing up also, i either ignored lewd people around me, or was surrounded by male friends/peers, always letting them boast in the glory of being 'the protector' !! oh well, the need is still not there, but the whole notion of being in a foreign country and out of your comfort zone can be unsettling..so with this thought in the back of my mind, i went..and thank heavens i went :)
The instructor was a wonderful lady, Margarett, a social worker for an organisation 'Impact'.
To build up the session and involve us, she started off with personal experiences and the situations which all females have to face and handle. The basic idea was to tell that its in our hands to control situations and avoid extreme consequences.
I really cant give details of the exciting session (don't mind my volatile memory !) but want to share some of the tips which i think are really cool and handy !
so without relying on my amazing memory, further more, here you go..
1. Never ignore the inner instinct..Remember that a female's instincts tell her that something is wrong, way before it happens ! so don't think that, the other person cant harm you, cos if he doesn't then rightho! but if he does then .....
2. Use that voice of yours.. When someone invades your personal physical space knowingly, raise your voice..first politely, and then steadily being loud and clear..this tells other people around that someone's causing you trouble.. This also builds confidence :) I know being a woman, its are nature to be pleasant and warm and we are supposed to be spreading sunshine everywhere, but no point being the good one, when your being taken advantage of !!
3. Keep sharp things like keys handy, just in case..most of the times, assaults are never made, if you show (its very important to show that you feel like the queen of the world, and i know every woman somewhere loves being this !! :)) that your alert..but when you know that your not in a safe area, keep things handy..carry a pepper spray, keys should be handy in case you have to run to your vehicle, etc..
4. Mobile phones can come handy..in some cases just to pretend that your in touch with soemone..but only when you know that your safety zone is nearby.. Otherwise talking on a phone outside, blocks your attention and senses, so don't use it much :)
5. learn some kicking techniques from ur male friends/peers..i learnt some today, but don't really want to explain all that :D don't mind..but use your four limbs (2 hands and 2 legs) to the fullest..try to hit on softer parts of the body..anything from neck up and groin is right on spot ! These are extreme measures which we seldom require..but it helps building confidence..so learn it for the heck of it :)
6. Last and the most important, always try to be alert, don't block any of your senses..its always clever to be in your safety zone first :)
so on this note, be alert, be confident and listen to that instinct of yours :) its never wrong :)
nightflier (fellow woman) !
And for the indians here in amreeka, we came up with an amazing dish which comes very close to the chaat (a snack) we have back home :) buy the doritos/nacho/tacos, any flavor and dress them up with a salad topping of finely cut tomatoes, onions, cilantro (coriander :D),grapes, a pinch of salt, nimbu and sugar :) it tastes just heavenly :) try it and lemme know !!

giving up..
just gave up on a matlab assignment..
not that I cant program..its just that I cant program myself to do stuff I don't understand :S
it's a big issue now, cos the deadline for the project is thursday..
I have been working on it since friday, but whether you call it my slow brains (probability is higher) or not, I'm struggling badly..
and things do tend to get worse, if rest of the class is enjoying the weekend and you are the only loser ass sitting in the apartment, not enjoying chicago weather (last few days of summer you see) and the realization about 'you-are-a-jerk' dawns upon you at 11.30 in the night on a sunday !!!
we (me and my roomie who share the same class) have contacted/mailed the prof since friday, but seems lucky chap, is having a great time on the weekend..the only responses have been, in greek !! and my position and situation does not give me time to learn all that you see !!! and I dont want to sound like a geeky jerk, but we have been the only 2 people, pestering him..rest of the class is too clever to even consider him for help, that too on a weekend, me thinks !!
so when nothing else works in life, and you start feeling frustrated and worked up and tensed and worthless (:D)..give up people !!
from failed relationships to unsolved assignment problems, this technique works..hoping with the best of hopes that this works :D
live and let live,
nightflier !
P.S. i really want to write on deep, meaningful issues, guess i have already given up on that front !! :)

Long weekend saga ....
Statutory warning : Its nothing much to do hence posted kind of post !! so dont blame me if u get bored !!
The things which were lined up for me during this weekend :
1. Play badminton everyday. But dint know that, labor day means a holiday for the students who manage sports center as well ! So all weekend long, they kept the Keating Sports Center closed, for our dismay >.<
2. Visit the Desi market, Devon street, and get all the indian groceries. But they delivered, my laptop (will come back to it in a while) the same day and i had every reason in the world to get distracted and postpone my trip :D Well we did go there, just that could not get all the stuff ! And i quite dint like the place. It was good to see all the indians, pakistani, bangladeshi, arab families around. But i felt suffocated there. The place made me homesick and i longed to go back home.To be with people i loved, cared for. Hold on, this is really becoming a sad, depressing saga. Fullstop ! discussion ends here !
3. Meet a undergraduate ke days ki friend. Guess i still dont know how to communicate so could not contact the friend, even with an at&t phone : Hope she catches the message i left on her voicemail :( But do they record 15 minute long messages ?? I was trying to give her a detailed route to my place, u know : kidding !!! Bhagwaan help this techno gavaar !! :D
4. Study for the power electronics course and bruch up basics. Moreover do some simulations on matlab for the hi-fi power systems assignment ! i love to talk in jargon.. Dont get worked up, i love not to follow myself, hence dint even open a book/matlab :D Pehle amreekan long weekend pe kaun pagal padhai karta hai :P Not me at least, u nerd !!
Instead i did these extremely fruitful and productive things to keep that lil piece called brain sedated !!
1. Watched rock on!! :) :) dont know where they play hindi movies here and moreover cant afford :D, so saw it online. Good movie. Specially Farhan Akhtar !! No review from my side, just these lines
Aankhon mein jiske koi to khwaab ho..
khush hai wahi jo thoda betaab hai..
zindagi mein koi aarazoo kijiye..
phir dekhiye !!!!!
Hothon pe jiske koi to geet hai..
wo haare bhi to uski hi jeet hai..
dil mein jo geet hai, gunguna lijiye..
phir dekhiye !!!!!
Enjoy :)
the singer of this song is damn good. haunting melody :)
2. Now I am a proud owner of a dell inspiron 1525. Actually i wanted to buy a HP/compaq, after SRK's (he is claimed to be a technology freak!!) endorsements, i think twas the one for me!! But after a long research and a lot of hard work (on my gizmo geek friend's part, of course :D ) i bought this one! Its midnight blue and looks very hot! My new love!!! Though i am not that possessive about it, i still hope its love :D
I have worked on personal computers till date, so having my own lappy is a new experience. Imagine, how well i can customize this one !! aah :) The computer is personal again!! wonder why dell guys dont have a tagline :D
I still dont have a secure internet connection, so not able to make full use of it. But this new baby, has made life happy happy :) :)
3. I bought a potted plant, finally :) :) its a pothos or moneyplant in apna india :) got it really cheap..of course, it should not be a thought, but yaha har kadam pe paiso ke baare mein sochna padta hai :D more on the mere-haath-yaha-bandhe-huye-hai saga in some other post! I have named it maniii (a cheap metaphor, i know :)). So maniii (twinkles in my eyes) is my 2nd love after the 1525 (my lappy, duh!!!).. and i dont blush when talking about him, hope thats love too !! :D
4. My biggest mistake on this happily-ever-after weekend!! i saw bachna ae haseeno :
Lesson learnt, Yashraj movies are not even worth a pirated version watch these days !! I dont believe Bipasha Basu was wearing those skimpy clothes to look so stupid and totally unmodern!! And that small town girl song was crap!! deepika padukone was too a perfect modern girl..i mean in the end she does say yes..so itne attitude ka kya faayda ?? and ranbir kapoor looked like a dud..ekdum lackluster performance..where is the kid we saw in sawariya ?? the only believable person was minisha lamba, cos of her character 'mahi'.. Anyways, why m i making the mistake bigger by writing a full fledged critisism bout this stupid movie !! :- :-
So in this way i spent my long weekend..instead of utilising it for brushing up basics and studying, i did the totally opposite thing, as every student does in his hay days :)
But i have really good excuses to give myself..so the geek in me will hopefully shut up !! :D
Now its time for the long stroll along the beach (lake yaar).. Yane time to put the thinking cap on and plan something fruitful for the next long weekend !!
Its in October sometime.. socho socho..
and lemme know if u have anything special in mind !!
till then, keep that geeky guy in control :D
