may the DEPARTED rest in peace

as the title of the post goes may my saturday also rest in peace :D

Seriously a movie with an amazing starcast, a famous director (martin scorsese..i got a palm ulcer typing that and a mouth ulcer pronouncing that :D wat, wat did u say a sissy who could not score well in english??) and of course a rich producer (brad pitt being one of them :D) should have been watched by me ages ago (ok..at least an year ago..)
but the last time i took time to watch it, my feeble mind could not stand the slang :D
i slept off over a bet with my friend over the *uck count :D
seriously..we do our best to collect new statistics which might help us when we open the great consultancy firm..
which reminds me im digressing (thats a new technique some bloggers like me use to increase the length of their blog post :D)

its a action flick.. (thats another technique in writing which says make abrupt jumps to the point u want to make :D)
excuse me, mr. director (as the name gives my hands creeps, we r goin to address him by his profession :D) i dint hear any dhishum dhishum throughout he movie..as an Indian movie buff i am accustomed to look out for mind numbing, soul stirring, high octane action sequences, where the good guy always makes a comeback and triumphs..
now u'll scream in my ears that it was no Indian cinema..it was a Hollywood movie..
but are not movies supposed to be of universal appeal nowadays, with the cross over cultures wala funda ?? now, now, gotcha..ab jawaab de khadoos :P
one more thing mr. director, in your movie everyone died in the end..there was no social message to be given..very unlike a good movie which has a public service message :D

ha, but the camera did move on a mouse in the end..
im thinking..
ohhhh..very clever..so that was the mouse which gave u inspiration to make a movie on chor and police (cops and goons) who love to play the cat and mouse game..
was it to show a mouse always wins ??
or was it a tribute to the mouse kind ?? wasnt it?
oh my god..so subtle..i respect u so much :D

but sir i have one humble request..with my limited vocabulary of slangs (of course!!), could u come up with an easy on the ears version of the movie, so poor souls like me would comprehend the rich dialogue content ?
i mean i can give u comprehendable or even milder version of slangs you used, so that in my country everyone will understand your master piece and the message it wants to convey ?
and moreover the censor board here would lift the 'A' rating :D

otherwise with your super cool direction and screenplay the movie is really good (i have to change my stand cos of the 'mouse' issue now :D)
may the Departed rest in peace !!!

P.S. it is truly top class movie, just that the slang was something else :)
Must watch if u like racy, action packed films !!

when in gloom..

There are days when mind just goes on the gloomier track..
nothing in particular interests u..not even truckloads of work or good food :(
ur heart just becomes so soft and vulnerable that an altogether tender side of u opens up..
u start seeing the world in a more emphatic way..trying to feel the vibes people are sending..
and then u realize, there s a lot of chaos in the surroundings..

i realized the importance of a 'smile' the other day ..
was trotting my way to food court when i saw a house keeper coming with a huge floor cleaner, all by himself..
i just opened up the door for him and it made my day..
it was the best moment of the day..
he just gave me an understanding smile :) :)
simple things which make life simpler..

so dear friends, when surrounded by sadness, dont indulge in drinking or while away time listening to sad songs or talking about it..
do ur bit by smiling and being sensitive and patient to others' needs :) :)

P.S. im still smiling :)
P.P.S. i bought my first Saree :)

random ...

missed french classes today :(
feeling awful..
wat better excuse than a fevered brain !!
and wat better than a 'fevered brain' as the weakest link for random thoughts :D !!!!

1. why offices/workplaces are associated with cluttered politics and foul play ??
my workplace was a raucous of reproachful activity after we had a meeting over the release of resources from the current project..our first project (which is supposed to be like a back-to-school experience, in terms of learning :D) with the org has got delayed a lot to everyones' dismay..so quite understandable that everyone wants to break free :)
and thats why everyone has started pulling others' legs and shrugging off responsibilities..
some poor souls get into a lot of trouble cos of this (not me yaar..im not itna sajjan :D)..
and it disturbs me..as an overall effect this pollutes the work culture and healthy environment we strive to cultivate..
not something that cant be improved..definitely..
im goin to drop 'get well soon' cards at everyones' desks now :) ob, including mine..itni dumb nahi hoon :D

2. Why marriages are so difficult to arrange ??
from the union of two souls, families, societies, cultures to cause of headaches and heart-burns :-| I am getting to see these things in every light..i like knowing it all but seeing some dear ones suffer is a bit disturbing..
there s a saying in hindi, 'Shaadi ka laddoo, jo khaye wo pachtaye, jo na khaye wo bhi pachtaye' !!
meaning 'the pie of marriage, one who eats also regrets, one who does not as well'
they never thought about poor souls like me, who would shiver at such creepy thought..i mean i love laddoo (specially motichoor ..yum !!! :D) / pie..and these people dare put me in such dilemma or wat they call a dharmasankat..
ahem..i say why dont we change the laddoo to jalebi or the pie to a cookie..something i prefer less..so i wont bother much wat im having :) :)
better still laddoo to kajukatli or pie to black forest pastry which i love..so that i eat it without any thought (negative at least) :D
see i have such simple solutions to problems..consultancy khol hi deti hoon :D

3. why mushy movies still move me and not the daily offerings of the newspaper ??
i saw 'u,me aur hum' the other day..i know boring movie..but still it touched me..not my fault..'it' touched me :D
i wonder why not the daily stories of the newspaper (murders, rapes, gang wars, etc etc)
move me ? may be its the simplicity of Love which attracts me compared to cruelty or wickedness of murders :-|
or may be i believe that good balances the bad, hence i conveniently ignore the bad, thinking goodness will find its way :-|
hmmm.....

4. why some people are loud on the phone ??
i was quietly drafting this blog on my bus travel back to home, when
kirrrrrr.......irrrr......kaboom........
this lady was chattering in her cell like crazy ..'yes, we have these CRs to take care of..why dont u guys..achhha , so how s he now ....blah..blah..'
i mean, lady cant u see, ur polluting the whole janta's shaanti bhari sleep by uttering words like CR and office in the bus ??? and most importantly ur voice intruded my string of thoughts..
>.< >.< (thats how i look when i m angry :D)
i judge her position..right behind me, a slight diagonally seated.. i take my time and turn........ to give a sweet and coy smile instead of 'one-of-those-famous-cold-stares-of-mine' :-| the lady turned out to be one of my project track leads..and miss righteous was talking about uncluttered workplace and all... but hope u know how it is :) karna padta hai yaar ....

5.
why is pune so hot ??
i went out of the AC office, in the sun for 10 minutes and had a sunstroke..bad headache and stuff..
and hopefully u know, the consequence..this post :D
now if u want me to be fine, pray for me, cos i cant miss french classes everyday !! :)

bonjour !!!!

on the personal front

finished reading 2 wonderful books.
1. eagle in the sky - wilbur smith
2. to kill a mockingbird - harper lee

first for the unconditional and deepest of love between David and Debra.
later for its simplicity and native language..now i know why simple books get all the awards and accolades..cos its the most difficult thing to do in the world..to keep it simple :)
these are timeless books..dont need my reviews..but recommended strongly :)

beautiful reads..lay ur hands on em if u can :)

of rikshaws and rikshwa-walas :)

i was super duper late for work today..
twas 12 pm and i had still not seen the light (office ka i mean :D), but not my fault, train got delayed and the whole brouhaha on my part :)
anyways coming back, laziness was at its bestest and i decided to go to office by a Rikshaw (my office is 17 kms away from my house) So yes, u heard it right, i took the brave decision of staking my 200 - 300 INR and dear life for the sheer laziness.. shamefulllll !!

the scene..
cut to cut..
i approach the rikshaw-wala uncle with a worried expression..
the foreplay part u know..u got to emotionally blackmail them, if its a long distance :D
i tell him the address, flat NO ..
expected..
take my chance with another uncle, this time, i overact and have almost lost it, when i see a flicker of smile from his side..
now with baited breath i prepare myself for the next battle..
the charges !
very coolly he says 120 Rs. mam.. im like wat ???? (need an ear check up soon :D) say it again ???
he says 120 Rs mam.. my happiness shows no bounds (they cost u 1.5 times the meter reading - 250 (whichever s greater) at least and this guy here was asking for the right amount, wont u be euphoric ?)
i hop into the vehicle and the safar is on !! :)

surely got me thinking.. wat could be the reason behind his act of GOoDness ???

1. may be he lived near my office (that area happens to be an industrial one..so overruled :D)
2. may be he had some errand to run in that area (hmm..quite possible)
3. may be he was plain ignorant about the charging policies of the rikshaw-wala community .. possible.. but since this makes me look bad in my fans' eyes, as i was using his ignorance, i overrule it :D
yes, shamelessly, cos many of my fellow ignorant rikshaw travelers have been conned by his very community :)
4. may be he had a girl friend there (ahem !!) now this is something i like about my skewed mind. its totally uncorrupted and thinks straight :D

so argument no. 4 wins hands down .. no doubts about that..
watever might be the poor things' motive behind that fair charge, i had a great day cos i got to be the talk of the cubicle.. he gave us all food for gossip :P

anyways, dear rikshaw travelers, there comes a day, when u meet a GOD in the rikshaw-wala and he charges u the fair amount, so never ever give up the hope for goodness !!
its still there :)

P.S. i still love my skewed mind :D

river wild !

I am not one of those 'travelogue' persons..i kinda like to live in the moment, when i m outdoors i.e. and feel it the best way i can..but i want all of u to try this, hence this attempt :)
(hope it inspires some of you !!)

I went 'white water rafting' today !!!! yipppeeee !!!
yeah i know it was on my list of fun things to do..and believe me it was much more than that! :)

{ i dont know how exactly u write these things, but m going to be random..like the rapids we faced today :D }

me with a group of friends decided to go for white water rafting at Kundalika River.. yeah i know rafting in this season and that too in the dry region like maharashtra !! but the place where we went is pretty interesting ! The river is fed by excess water from Tata's dams, mulshi and bhira project..the dam gates open early in the morning..the gushes form an ideal rafting route for beginners (class 2 - 4, just to give some jargon :D)

these facts and figures apart, the itinerary started on a pretty bad note..we were supposed to reach the starting point at 7.30am as the water ie released during that time..but r driver decided to make a fool of us (otherwise he was a decent fellow :)) and dint fill up diesel the earlier night and told bout tis crucial strategically important (!!!) fact when we were almost outta the city :x
patiently played the wait game till 7 am as petrol stations out of the city start selling petrol at 7 !!
after the bad start, it had to be a roller coaster ride to make it just in time..
being eons late to reach the starting point (1.5 hrs at least) somewhat heartbroken we carried on.. to r surprise, the dam people had opened 2 gates and that too an hour late than usual !!
yipppeeee... (TATA ke ghar der hai par andher nahi !!)

we were provided with the full rafting gear :) then followed a brief training session on rafting and pedaling basics, calls for drastic measures :D etc..the trainers were really interesting, experienced rafters, who have done rafting in major rivers across India..to top it with some strawberries, our team was really cool; addu, sunny,me,lee and vasu :) our trainer (yes, there's one trainer in every raft) was a bit strict guy, who insisted more on technique (which was best for beginners like us) which slightly reduced the fun quotient ! (i have realized lately, that, fun quotient depends on a lot many things, one being the company ur with :D)

Mann, the real fun started when we entered the waters..r entry into the first rapid was like a newly wed girl, all hesitant and scared..but it was no looking back once we got all enthu and all drenched :D
the maneuvering needed to steer the raft was a bit professional for amateurs like us (the rowing experience back during college days indeed helped !!!) so we left it for the trainer :D
the rapids that followed were damn sport ! they needed sufficient skill but r trainer saved the day and we just sailed under his guidance :)
the rapids had interesting names too :D like morning headache, jhatka (means a jerk !), ratrani (its a flower), bloody ****er (whoa !!!) etc.

in a particular rapid the raft s supposed to flip, but thanks (or no thanks) to almighty, we had hefty company in r raft and hence saved the trainers lot of energies (in saving us i say :P)
but the over enthu us wanted to try that out too, so came back to the same rapid thrice (yes u can do that but, of course, with a lot of effort as u have to peddle against the flow) and when we finally succeeded, the raft dint flip but 3 members just fell out (the weight quotient :D again) It was a sight, on the trainers face i mean! the 3 who fell must have had the time of their lives (i dint fall cos i had held the rope too tight..sigh..)
there was one stretch of continuous rapids for 20 mins which was thoda tiring, but after that the river kinda slowed down and we were left with swimming ka option..
this was again a wonderful experience (especially for people like us who have never swam beyond a square box of 50*5)
we swam. we peddled. we floated. we played silly pranks too.. tell u life was never so relaxed and satisfied !
it dint end there..we had to peddle almost 2 kms to reach steady banks and come back to the starting point (by vehicles of course !)

me says, everyone should try this as its not very risky and not very tiring! moreover its something totally different and new..
im planning to go again in monsoons, for the current then will be more exciting!
well, all said and done, it was a completely 'river wild' experience..had never been so close to the nature (rivers i mean !)
feels just incredible !
btw my next destination should be the 'ganges', wot say ??? ;)

P.S. u can find out more about the site here :).

lets get weirder !!

ahem..
life s been humdrum for the past few days..
before it takes its toll on me and i get sucked in the routine, here s my to do list to make things weird and after all altogether fun !!!

now on..
1. try various adventure sports.. first in line s 'white water rafting'
(if i come back alive, i want to try bungee-jumping next..rest can wait for their turn :P)
2. cook weird dishes (obviously when no one's around..i cant risk others lives, of course :D)
3. write poetry (heehuuhaaaa..obviously again it wont be published :P for reasons unknown..i have always thought there s this tender side of me, who can appreciate the nuances of life and give them words..i hope to fail myself :D)
4. learn kick boxing (the urge to kick people has been overwhelming lately :D)
5. write blogs in French :D (i appreciate ur concerns, but most of my fan club s hindi speaking, so wont give a damn bout the topics..though i will write on various grave issues the world's facing ranging from why cow milk s better for health, why saarukh bought a cricket club, why sarkozy is the way he is (French articles ought to have some related stuff :P) and all that..real serious issues u know.. :D)
6. learn bhangra :D
7. make collages (come on now..this is going to be fun..i am halfway through the first one!! :))

ahem (again).. these things will last for a long time me thinks..
till then..get weirder..
and if u have anything in mind, then u know how to get in touch with me or better else, just involve me in the fun activity...

P.S. my fun quotient follows a sinusoidal curve :D
